This and that and Melbourne

2/09/2017

A hectic week behind. Sitting on the street in Bunbury - no it's not as bad as it sounds. I'm sitting here, listening to live music and enjoying one of these sunny, Western Australian Saturday nights. And I'm getting emotional. It's my last weekend here for now and I'm going to I miss it so so much.

Hektinen viikko takana.
I tried to get hold of my friends to come here with them but that never happened. I won't complain - earlier today my host mom said "we can go there as a family then" and it really warmed my heart. Other one of the twins was excited to show me her new dress before we left home, the baby was all smiling and happy. I'm going to miss them so so much

Last full day here. I posted 8 kilos of my stuff to Finland by seas. On the way to post office the other one of the girls said "I miss you Fiia" and told about being sad and crying when I'm gone. We had some big, lovely cuddles later on. She included me under the same last name as rest of her family and I'm just melting. The other one then was playing with me in the hammock. Lots of laughing and having fun and chatting and suddenly she goes all quiet, then whispers: "Fiia... I love you". The little fella and I were having some cuddles and he was just giggling away and I realized again I love them all so so much.

Packing my things in the middle of the night. Can't get it done as I don't want to leave. I've never felt this unwilling to travel in my life, ever. I don't want to leave my home and life here. I'm stressed and sad about the whole situation I'm leaving my Ozzie family in - the things with new au pair aren't clear at all and without digging deeper into that subject I just say sometimes people make selfish decisions that cause lots of problems to others. My host mom cooked us a lovely dinner of Indian food.

Host-äitini kokkasi meille herkullista intialaista ruokaa vikaksi illaksi.

Things back in Finland aren't going well and I thought for a second that alright, this is the moment when I take all my savings and fly back home tomorrow. Luckily it's not that bad but it's awful enough to make me feel anxious and worried and sad. It's stressful for my family there and we're all living in uncertainty at the moment. I'm listening to one of the most beautiful Finnish songs that I know and cry. Everything happens at once as always.

I'm sitting at Perth airport with Viktoria. Lots of tears when saying goodbyes to my family, I didn't realize it's going to be this hard to leave. My Australian family is awesome and I'm grateful for everything I experienced here.

In Melbourne. Sitting in our hostel and waiting for the check in to open. We both had a little nap on the couches here, a night in a plane plus a few sleepless nights before that aren't the best way to kick off our adventures. I hope I'll sleep properly tonight and feel a bit more like a human tomorrow instead of being dead tired and still a bit sad about leaving home.

Melbournessa.
Melbourne is green. A lot greener than it was back in WA. It's more humid. There were lots of people in the train and I realized I haven't been to a city this big for a while. I still can't get my head around the fact I'm backpacking now, not living in Bunbury anymore. And talking about backpacking - I still have to send bunch of stuff to Finland. I already posted 8 kilos of things I don't need but my backpack is still 20 kilos, and I have three pieces of hand luggage. There's no way I'm going to carry all this stuff for next months. I have no idea where did all this stuff even come from.

Melbournessa on vihreää. Tosi paljon vihreämpää, kuin Länsi-Australiassa. Ilma on kosteampi.

But anyway. It's kind of good to be here. Kind of awful to be gone. But I'm sure this part of my Australian adventure is going to be awesome!
