How your family reacted to you moving abroad? / Miten sun perhe otti sun ulkomaille muuton?
- Some of my relatives don't really understand why I want to live abroad but no-one has ever said I shouldn't go. I'm also lucky in the sense that my family has always been really supportive and my parents just want me to be happy and fulfill my dreams. Obviously it's a big thing, but I guess my parents had been mentally preparing to this for years already - I was just a few years old when I told I'm moving to England. And well, this isn't exactly England but isn't too far away either :D
- Jotkut sukulaisistani eivät ymmärrä, miksi haluan asua ulkomailla, mutta kukaan ei ole koskaa sanonut, ettei minun pitäisi lähteä. Olen myös siinä mielessä onnekas, että mun perhe on aina tukenut mua ja vanhemmatkin haluavat, että olen onnellinen ja toteutan unelmiani. Tietenkin kyse on isosta asiasta, mutta luulenpa, että porukat ovat valmistautuneet tähän jo vuosia - olin alle eskari-ikäinen, kun ekan kerran ilmoitin muuttavani Englantiin. Ja no, eihän tämä nyt ihan Englanti ole, mutta ei täällä nyt niin kovin kaukana siitäkään olla :D

What's best and what's worst about living in Scotland? / Mikä on parasta ja huonointa Skotlannissa asumisessa?
- The best part is probably just the overall feeling I've got. I'm happy here. I feel like I'm doing what I'm meant to be doing, I like my studies, and life is simply good. The worst part then... I thought complaining about the weather or being away from my friends and family back in Finland but then again I'm used to both of them and they don't really bother me. So maybe the fact that I'm spending ridiculous amounts of money every month - living here isn't cheap.
- Parasta on varmaan se fiilis, joka mulla täällä on. Olen onnellinen. Tuntuu siltä, että teen sitä, mitä mun kuuluukin tehdä, tykkään opinnoistani ja elämä vaan yksinekertaisesti on kivaa. Ikävin juttu sen sijaan... ensin ajattelin valittavani säästä tai siitä, että ystävät ja perhe on kaukana Suomessa, mutta toisaalta olen tottunut jo molempiin, eivätkä ne minua vaivaa. Joten ehkäpä se tosiasia, että kulutan täällä ihan hurjat määrät rahaa joka kuukausi - eläminen ei ole halpaa.

What is the best part about living abroad? / Mikä on upeinta ulkomailla asumisessa?
- Living abroad is simply a dream come true to me and I guess that's the best part.
- Ulkomailla asuminen on mulle toteutunut unelma, joten se kai se paras juttu on.

What Finnish things you miss the most? / Mitä suomijuttuja kaipaat eniten ulkomailla ollessasi?
- Definitely proper rye bread, Finnish chocolate, and salmiakki.
- Ihan ehdottomasti kunnon ruisleipää, suomalaista suklaata ja salmiakkia.

Are you more of an introvert or an extrovert? Oletko enemmän intovertti tai ekstrovertti?
- I would say I'm more and more extroverted the older I get even though I do enjoy being on my own as well.
- Sanoisin, että muutun enemmän ja enemmän ekstrovertiksi, mitä vanhemmaksi tulen, vaikka tykkään kyllä olla yksinänikin.

Do you have a role model? If yes, who is s/he? / Onko sinulla esikuvaa? Jos on, niin kuka?
- I've always looked up to my grandfather who passed away this year and I guess you could call him my role model. I just admired how open-minded, accepting, and loving person he was.
- Olen aina katsonut ylöspäin vaariani, joka nukkui pois tänä vuonna, joten kaipa häntä voisi kutsua esikuvaksikin. Ihailin aina sitä, kuinka avoinmielinen, hyväksyvä ja rakastava persoona hän oli.

What are the five most important things in your life? / Mitkä viis asiaa on sulle elämässä tärkeimpiä?
- Family, friends, travelling, staying true to myself, and being happy.
- Perhe, ystävät, matkustaminen, itselleni rehellisenä pysyminen ja onnellisuus.

What are the qualities that make someone "your kind of a person"? / Kun tutustut uuteen ihmiseen, mitkä ominaisuudet tekee siitä tyypistä "sun tyylisen"?
- I appreciate people who have strong opinions and are confident being themselves. A hint of sarcasm and a good sense of humor are necessities. And obviously similar values and interests make it easier to get along.
- Arvostan ihmisiä, joilla on vahvat mielipiteet ja jotka ovat itsevarmoja. Ripaus sarkasmia ja hyvä huumorintaju ovat välttämättömyyksi. Tietenkin myös samanlaiset arvot ja kiinnostuksenkohteet auttaa asiaa.

 Is there anything in your life you're really proud of and why? / Mistä oot erityisen ylpeä elämässäsi ja miksi?
- Probably just the fact that I've got where I am right now. Not just meaning that I'm doing what I want to do but I'm also slowly but surely becoming the person I want to be.
- Luultavasti ihan vaan se, että olen päässyt tähän, missä olen nyt. Enkä tarkoita vain sitä, että teen sitä, mitä haluankin tehdä, vaan myös sitä, että olen hitaasti mutta varmasti kasvamassa siksi ihmiseksi, joka haluan olla.

The most amazing thing you've achieved in your life so far? / Upein asia mitä oot saavuttanut elämässäsi tähän mennessä?
- Moving to Australia. I must have been a bit crazy but I did it.
- Australiaan muutto. Onhan mun nyt täytynyt olla vähän hullu, mutta tein sen silti.

What are you afraid of? / Mitä pelkäät?
- Losing my loved ones and not living life to the fullest. Plus I'm afraid of heights.
- Rakkaiden menettämistä ja sitä, etten elä elämää täysillä. Plus pelkään korkeita paikkoja.

How would you describe your style? / Millanen on sun tyyli?
- I don't really have a specific style but just wear whatever feels comfortable and looks nice. Smart casual could be a way to describe what I'm trying to reach with my choice of clothing (unless I just feel like pulling on that over-sized hoodie and not brushing my hair but putting it up in a messy bun instead)
- Minulla ei oikein ole mitään tiettyä tyyli, pukeudun vaatteisiin, jotka on mukavia ja näyttää kivalta. Smart casual voisi kuitenkin olla tapa kuvailla sitä, mitä pyrin saavuttamaan vaatevalinnoillani (ellen sitten vaan satu fiilaamaan sitä liian isoa hupparia ja harjaamattomia hiuksia, jotka voi vetäistä sotkunutturalle)

A thing, you would like to do in the future? / Joku asia, minkä haluat tulevaisuudessa toteuttaa?
- For some reason the first thing that came in my mind is a bungee jump.

If someone gave you 50€ right now, how would you spend it? / Jos saisit nyt 50€, mihin käyttäisit sen?
- As a poor student I have to say I would buy food

A night in or a night out? / Koti-ilta vai bileilta?
- Totally depends on my mood. I love going out every now and then (or more like every week here in uni...) but I also enjoy just staying home, relaxing, and having a bit more quiet night as well
- Riippuu ihan mielentilasta. Rakasta ulkona käymistä silloin tällöin (tai oikeammin viikottain näin yliopiston myötä...), mutta nautin myös kotona olemisesta, renotutumisesta ja vähän rauhallisemmasta menosta

Name three things you're bad at and three things you're really good at? / Kolme asiaa joissa oot huono ja kolme juttua joissa oot tosi hyvä?
- I'm bad at football, public speaking, and economics. I'm really good at writing, getting things done under pressure, and finding the cheapest flights.
- Olen huono jalkapallossa, puheiden pitämisessä ja ekonomiassa. Olen tosi hyvä kirjoittamaan, saamaan asioita aikaiseksi paineen alla ja halvimpien lentojen löytämisessä.

Why did you start blogging? / Mikä sai sut aloittamaan bloggaamisen?
- I think I started my very first blog simply because I wanted to share my texts and photos somewhere.
- Luulenpa, että aloitin ekan blogini ihan vaan siksi, että oli joku paikka, missä jakaa kuviani ja tekstejäni

Which century would you like to visit? / Mille vuosituhannelle haluaisit matkustaa?
- I would probably go back to the early 20th century.

Q&A: Answers part 1 - travelling, studying, and food

I asked you to leave me questions a while ago and there was a bunch of them. It's time to answer some of them as I had to divide this post into two parts to avoid it becoming too exhausting. Anyway, let's get started!

Pyysin teitä jättämään kysymyksiä jokin aika sitten ja niitä tulikin ihan kiva läjä. Nyt olisikin aika vastata osaan niistä, sillä jouduin jakamaan tämän postauksen kahteen osaan, kun se alkoi venymään uuvuttavan pitkäksi. Mutta eiköhän vaan mennä asiaan!
Food / Ruoka
In which country have you eaten the most memorable meal ever? How about the best food ever? / Missä maassa oot syöny mieleenpainuvinta ruokaa? Entä yksinkertaisesti parasta ruokaa?
- This is a hard one as I've been eating lots of interesting and tasty foods in multiple different places. One quite a unique experience was shopping at Ramadan markets in Malaysia and having our dinner from those little plastic bags, sitting on the side of the road with a bunch of others. The food itself wasn't maybe the most memorable part of this but the experience as a whole. And the best food then? I just have no idea to be honest.
- Tähän kysymykseen on vaikea vastata, sillä olen syönyt paljon mielenkiintoisia ja maistuvia ruokia monissa eri paikoissa. Yksi erityinen kokemus oli Malesiassa Ramadan markkinoilla shoppailu, jonka jälkeen syötiin illallisemme porukalla niistä pikku muovipusseista kadulla istuen. Ruoka sinällään ei ehkä ollut niin kovin mieleenpainuvaa, mutta se koko kokemus kylläkin. Ja paras ruoka sitten? Tähän on sanottava, että en kyllä oikeasti tiedä!

If you had to pick one dish to eat for a whole year, what would you choose and why? / Jos saisit vuoden aikana syödä vain yhtä ruokaa, niin mitä söisit ja miksi?
- Salad. Simply because it can be pretty much anything - wouldn't get boring!
- Salaatti. Ihan vaan siksi, että se voi olla melkein mitä vaan, niin eipähän kävisi tylsäksi!

Your favourite Finnish home-made meal? / Lemppari suomalainen kotiruoka?
- I'm not really a huge fan of Finnish food but I guess mashed potatoes with salmon counts.
- En ole mikään suomalaisen ruuan suurin fani, mutta pottumuusi ja lohimedaljongit lienee lasketaan.

Have you ever had a food poisoning? / Oletko koskaan saanut ruokamyrkytystä?
- Lucky enough I haven't.
- Onnekseni en!

The most expensive place you've ever had a meal in? / Kallein paikka missä oot koskaan syönyt?
- I don't really eat out that much and if I do, it's never anything too fancy, so I don't really have an answer to this one.
- En oikeastaan syö ulkona ja jos syön, niin se ei ole missään erityisen hienossa paikassa, joten tähän en oikein pysty edes vastaamaan.

What's your favourite coffee? / Millainen kahvi on sun lemppari?
- I always go for a latte or a cappuccino in a cafe or when getting a take-away coffee but I do love those sweetened ice coffees as well. But I still think good, proper coffee doesn't need anything else than a dash of milk in it and that's what I would go with, if I had to drink just one type of a coffee for the rest of my life: quality filter coffee with skimmed milk.
- Kahvilassa ja take-awayna tilaan aina cappuccinon tai latten, mutta rakastan myös makeita jääkahveja. Loppupeleissä hyvä kunnon kahvi ei kuitenkaan tarvitse mitään muuta, kuin tilkan maitoa sekaan ja sellaista kahvia joisinkin loppuelämäni, jos vain yhdenlainen kahvi pitäisi valita: kunnon suodatinkahvi rasvattomalla maidolla.

Studying / Opiskelu
How have your studies been so far? / Millai sun opiskelut on lähteny käyntiin?
- My studies have started off pretty well, I've been super busy but happy for the past two months. I'm not getting 100% on every single test but I'm doing a fairly good job and I'm happy with the results I'm getting. Independent studying does take a lot of time and effort and I'm still trying to get used to it but I like my subjects and learning new anyway
- Opinnot on alkaneet rullaamaan hyvin. Olen ollut tosi kiireinen, mutta onnellinen kahden viimeisen kuukauden aikana. En saa täysiä pisteitä joka kokeesta, mutta ihan hyvin on mennyt ja olen tyytyväinen tuloksiini. Itsenäinen opiskelu vie paljon aikaa ja vaatii tiettyä päättäväisyyttä ja yritän edelleen tottua siihen, mutta tykkään aineistani ja uuden oppimisesta joka tapauksessa
Travelling / Matkailu
Which country, that you haven't been before, you'd like to visit? / Missä maassa haluaisit käydä, jossa et ole vielä käynyt?
- To be honest I would love to visit all the countries that I haven't been to yet! But to pick a few that are on top of my "want to visit" list I'd say Canada, the Netherlands, and Switzerland
- Rehellisesti sanottuna haluaisin käydä ihan kaikissa niissä maissa, joissa en vielä ole ollut! Mutta jos pari pitäisi valita, niin listallani ylimpänä olisivat varmaan Kanada, Alankomaat ja Sveitsi

Name a country you will definitely return one day? / Maa, johon aiot palata ehdottomasti uudestaan?
- Australia <3

Your scariest experience abroad? / Pelottavin kokemus ulkomailla ollessa?
- I have to say I'm lucky and haven't really faced any actually dangerous situations while travelling and it's usually been more about being uncomfortable than actually afraid. But the first thing that comes in my mind when thinking of something that scared the hell out of me is that one night in New Zealand. We parked our rental car in which we slept in the end of a small remote road, started watching a thriller and drank some wine thinking no-one else will end up there. It was pitch black middle of nowhere (and as it's New Zealand there wasn't even phone service, so we were totally isolated of the rest of the world) and we were about to fall asleep. Suddenly another car drives behind us. I've never woken up so quickly and I remember my heart racing and us whispering in terror trying to figure out what to do (and after that movie, with some wine in our heads, we were totally convinced someone's going to murder us...). Long story short: turned out it was a couple of Swedish backpackers free-camping like us, and we ended up having a little bonfire sharing our best tips and experiences regarding travel and life in general.
- Mun täytyy sanoa, että olen onnekas, enkä ole kohdannut mitään oikeasti vaarallisia tilanteita matkustaessani ja yleensä on ollut kyse ennemminkin epämukavasta fiiliksestä, kuin oikeasta pelosta. Mutta eka mieleen tuleva juttu, kun oikeasti säikähdin lähes kuoliaaksi, on eräs yö Uusi-Seelannissa. Parkkeerattiin meidän vuokra-auto, jossa siis nukuttiin, erään pienen, syrjäisän tien perälle, alettiin katsomaan rikosleffaa ja juotiin hieman viiniä ajatellen, että ei kukaan muu sinne kuitenkaan eksy. Oli pilkkopimeää keskellä ei mitään (ja Uusi-Seelanti kun oli kyseessä, ei puhelimissakaan ollut kenttää eikä mitään, joten oltiin ihan eristyksissä muusta maailmasta) ja alettiin vaipua uneen. Yhtäkkiä meidän taakse ajaa toinen auto, enkä varmaan koskaan ole ollut niin äkkiä takaisin hereillä. Muistan, kuinka sydän hakkasi tuhatta ja sataa ja kuiskailtiin hädissämme toisillemme miettien, että mitä ihmettä me tehdään (ja parin viinilasillisen ja sen leffan jälkeen oltiin ihan varmoja, että joku on tullut vähintään murhaamaan meidät...). No, tarinahan päättyi siis lyhykäisyydessään niin, että toisessa autossa oli pari ruotsalaista reppureissaajaa, jotka olivat "vapaatelttailemassa" meidän tapaan ja päädyttiin jakamaan parhaat reissujuttumme nuotion äärellä.

The best place you just happened to visit without planning it in the first place? / Paras paikka, johon olet "eksynyt" eli et ollut suunnitellut alunperin käyväsi?
- The first place that comes to mind is Melaka in Malaysia but could mention also Cameron Highlands in the very same country. Both were pretty spontaneous visits!
- Eka paikka, joka mieleen tulee on Melaka Malesiassa, mutta voisin myös mainita Cameron Highlandsin samassa maassa. Molemmat olivat aika spontaaneja visiittejä!

Have you tried couchsurfing and how was it? / Oletko couchsurfannut, millainen oli kokemuksesi jos olet?
- I have couchsurfed once in Melbourne and it was a great experience!
- Olen sohvasurffannut yhden yön verran Melbournessa ja se oli huippu kokemus!

Is there a country that many others admire but you just don't get why? / Monien ihailema maa, joka ei vaan nappaa sua? Onko sellaista?
- I could say the USA but I have to admit my opinion is based on second hand information as I've never actually been there
- Tähän voisi sanoa USA, vaikka täytyy myös myöntää, että mielipiteeni pohjautuu olettamuksille, koska enhän siellä koskaan ole oikeasti käynyt

Which of the countries you've visited has stolen your heart completely? / Mikä maista, joissa oot käynyt, vei sun sydämen täysin?
- I have to list my top four: Australia, UK (England in the first place but nowadays Scotland as well), Germany, and Luxembourg
- Tähän on listattava mun top nelonen: Australia, Britannia (Englanti alun alkaen, mutta nykyään myös Skotlanti), Saksa ja Luxembourg

I do apologize the title, it's bad. But I just couldn't find a nice topic for this Blogging from A to Z post and so I decided to put these answers for your questions over here! I tried to divide them into few groups so it would be easier to skim this text through and find the ones that might interest you!

 And I do apologize also the fact that this post is coming out a few months late... I just totally forgot this for a long long time!

Appearance
How tall are you?
- A bit less than 160cm
Your natural hair color? 
- Just the ordinary grayish brown. 
Your favourite piece of clothing?
- It's really hard to name just one, but at least my woolen jacket is really nice. 
What does your hair look like? 
Pretty much like this:


 Childhood
Your dream profession at age of ten?
- I think it might have been something like rock-star or professional rider or  something like that, as I think my dream of becoming a vet was found bit later on.
The favourite childhood memory?
- I can't pick one, but summers in our cottage are quite nice and I have great memories of my "best-friends-used-to-bes"
Everyday-life
What kind of family do you have? 
- There are my parents and my little sister in my family + our dog. 
Your hobbies?
Riding, reading, cooking, baking, music...
A thing you couldn't manage to live without? 
- Probably my calendar, as I'm totally lost if I can't check what I'm doing and where I'm going tomorrow and next week and next month and so on.. And my laptop takes clearly the second place. 
Have you ever moved from a city to another?
- No I haven't.
Do you have any weird habbits?
- I speak a lot to myself and sometimes I catch myself doing it even there's others around. I might sound creepy, huh? But other ways no, I don't think so. 
What kind of music you listen?
- I'm a huge consumer of heavier music. If I listen to radio, it's usually Radio Rock (and just sometimes Suomipop). I love everything from heavy to rock - symphonic metal, powermetal, glamrock, hardrock. But I can listen pretty much everything!

Food
Your favourite food?
- Hard to say just one, but I love salmon in all forms and different fruits and veggies as well.
Do you like to cook?
- One of my favourite things! I love cooking and baking. 

Future
Future dreams?
- Again I've written a post about my dreams!
Your place of dreams to live in? 
- England
What kind of life you'd like to have in ten years?
- I'd like to have a profession, a dog and two cats, nice house somewhere with my small family.
Where would you like to live and why?
- What a hard question! I'd like to see the world as much as possible and live many places, but England or New Zealand are probably my ultimate dreams.
What is your biggest dream? 
- My biggest dreams are related to travelling. Visiting every continent is at least big enough!
Where do you see yourself in five years?
- Hopefully graduating from university pretty soon.
Where do you see yourself in ten years?
- I don't really know, hopefully I have a job and a profession and stuff like that. I've also written a post about my future plans!
Is there anything you'd like to achieve in your life?
There's a lot of things I'd like to achieve. Happiness, profession, good job and my dreams coming true. 

Next summer
What are you waiting for from the next summer?
- I'm awaiting to have a good time, travelling and friends, first summer to be officially an adult. And of course awesome adventures!
What you're going to do during the summer?
- I'm going to visit four countries, see my friends and spend a whole month with my boyfriend in Germany. The left over time that I have I'll spend with horses!

 Opinons
What do you hate?
- I barely hate anything... But I don't really like the way our world is at the moment - human kind is destroying each other and the whole planet.
Your favourite clothing store?
- I don't really have any favourite shops - I buy my clothes from here and there.
Your favourite dog breed?
I don't have one, but for example basenji, pharaoh hound and jack russell terrier are nice breeds. 
Favourite TV-show(s)?
- Ensitreffit alttarilla has been one of my favourites lately. Besides that Glee, McLeod's daughters, Sex and the city and Uusi Päivä are something that I like to watch.
Your favourite animal?
- Hard to name just one, but most probably dog or horse.
 Which season is your favourite and why?
- Hard to say, as I like all of them. Winter is probably my least favourite, but I really can't just pick one. There's anyway so much to do, and it's not depending of the season.
What do you like the most in yourself?
- If we think about the looks, I just looove my nails. And my eyes are quite nice as well. If talking about personality, I like the fact that I have opinions and I'm not afraid to say them out loud.
Your favourite song at the moment?
- Nightwish - Weak Fantasy

Randoms
Where would you travel, if you could go anywhere now?
- New-Zealand or Australia, or if I should leave right now and come back quite soon I'd visit Iceland.
What would you do, if you won the lottery?
- I'd travel a lot. I would buy myself a car and pay the dept of ours. I'd save some money and give some away for a good purpose. I would put a bit more to horses and train and compete a lot during the next season.
If you'd get 5000 euros and you should use them now, what would you buy?
- A trip for my parents to some really nice place - that would be 3000e. Then I'd buy a laptop - that would take maximum of 1000e. I could use some of the last 1000 euros to buy flights for myself to Spain or Greece or somewhere like this for the next autumn break. With last hundreds I'd buy something nice for my sister and for myself; clothes, books, movies and albums.
Would you like to have an ability to read someones thoughts or become invisible?
- It would be too creepy to read someones mind, so I'd like to have a power to become invisible. It could be useful!
What have made you happy today?
- It's summer!
Have you achieved or done anything that you're really proud of?
- Really hard to say something that I'm really truly proud of, more than just the "usual amount of pride". But lately I've been proud of myself as I learned to play Taikatalvi with piano!
- What is the most embarrassing/tough situation where you have had to perform?
Really difficult one to answer again! I can't remember any specific moment when I've been embarrassed a lot.
If you could live anywhere, where would you live and in what kind of house?
- At the moment I feel like I would go to live in England, most probably in London. Some cool, modern and big flat in the city could be my ultimate dream came true right now.
Who is your role model?
- At least my grandfather was a role model for me. And I think another grandpa plays an important role in my life as well.
Your favourite make-up product?
- I have to name Maybelline New York master precise eyeliner. It's the one I've been using for years, it lasts long and is easy to put on. Just love it!
A place where you feel more comfortable alone than with a group?
- Home.
Where'd you like to be right now?
- I'm quite happy with where I am actually. But if I could just suddenly go to visit somewhere, it would be... I don't even know because I'm going to visit London so soon anyway!
Celebrity crush? 
- Orlando Bloom. My ultimate celebrity crush since I don't even remember
If you could choose one movie to play major part in, what would it be?
- I have no idea actually :D Probably some epic action movie, with a little romance.
If you could suddenly learn any language, what would you like it to be?
- I would like to learn either Russian or German - most probably Russian because I think German would be easier one to learn just by studying. Also Spanish could be nice, but that's again something I could learn pretty easily if I wanted to.
Would you leave for an exchange year if you were offered a place?
- I would, as I really wanted to become an exchange student but the circumstances didn't allow me to do it.
If you strangle a smurf, what color it will turn?
- I have no idea :D Probably still blue?

- I am not totally sure yet, but might be so that next I'll go to study business in some university.
What is it like to study in IB?
Exhausting but awesome! I actually wrote a post about studying in IB :)

- Definitely! I'm quite sure that my next school isn't in Finland.
