A quick hello!

Long time no see again! Test week started yesterday, today I had a day off and tried to study chemistry and still don't know what's going on with it... I haven't posted for a week, but now I can promise that the next post will be coming sooner! And I still do have millions of ideas just waiting for the right time .... that might be next summer. The last year of IB is trying to kill me.
But yeah, anyways. Autumn is here and the weather is getting cooler. However the autumn colors haven't really shown up, which is quite sad. Today I spent, as said, with chemistry. I also dyed my hair, but before I'm letting you know what do I look like now, I want to share these outfit pics from two weeks ago. On these clothes I drove to Rovaniemi with my family. Didn't hit any reindeer and spent a lovely weekend with grandparents!

How is your autumn going?

Pitkästä aikaa blogin äärellä. Blogihiljaisuus ärsyttää itseänikin - asiaa kyllä löytyisi, mutta saa nähdä, milloin saan kaiken matskun teille asti. Ehkä ensi keväänä, kun koulu on tältä erää ohi. Toivossa on hyvä elää.

Eilen alkoi koeviikko ja tänään viettelin vapaapäivän värjäten hiuksia ja päntäten kemiaa. Uudesta hiusväristäkin on kuvia tulossa jossain vaiheessa, mutta nyt tahdoin jakaa parin viikon takaiset asukuvat. Kyseisenä viikonloppuna ajeltiin pitkästä aikaa Rovaniemelle perheen kanssa moikkaamaan isovanhempia. Enkä edes taklannut yhtäkään poroa!

P.S. As you can see, I decided stick with English and start adding a short conclusion in Finnish!

About the language and other thoughts

My blog has been quite silent for a while again. I still have a lot of things to be posted - once I have time and energy. But don't worry, I won't be silent again as I have a couple of posts ready already! However, today I'm not here to talk about how often do I post, but in which language should I be posting. Let's still first take a quick peek at what's been up last weeks!
Shirt - H&M, Top - Primark
Jeans - Gina Tricot, Shoes - Primark
Lately, I've been going to school, planning my future and the usual stuff. These pics were taken a couple of weeks ago and now I finally got them edited and uploaded here. Those jeans I love, I bought them from Gina Tricot in the summer and they've been in use in daily bases. I also own a black-and-white version of those and I don't know which ones I like the best. Everything in my life is totally fine if we don't count the fact that I gained at least ten pounds during the weekend - my dad got a birthday and we ate better than well... anyways I'm doing okay and hopefully after the deadline of business' internal assessment I'll be able to post more again!
And now I think it's time to talk about the topic I wanted to talk about. The language. This blog started as a blog written in English. At some point I wrote a few posts in both Finnish and English. Now I've been blogging only in English and it feels natural. I have another, nail-art-related blog, in Finnish, but now I've started wondering whether I should start writing this one also in Finnish or not.
The thought isn't too appealing. English is a huge part of my life at the moment and it seems to be the best language for me to write. However I know that in Finnish my writing skills are better, I'm able to produce interesting, clear and nice text all over. Finnish still is my one and only mother tongue despite the fact that I'm bilingual and capable of doing this in English. The thing that really makes me wonder to change the language is the audience of mine. Who is reading this blog? Mainly Finns. Finns who understand Finnish perfectly. And if I'm writing about the IB, applying universities abroad and travelling, I'm writing from a point of view of a Finn. Who could be interested? Another Finn.
This had lead me into a point where I think, I should give a say to you. I'm quite sure that I am going to start adding translations in the end of each post, but what do you think? Should I start an operation of transferring my blog totally into Finnish? Or should I include both languages or just keep the main focus in another and add small translations to each post? The stage, or the comment box, is yours.

Hope you enjoyed the weekend as much as I did and see you soon!

Last weekend

This post was writen on Thursday, 28th of May, but I forgot to publish it...
It's Thursday and today was my last school day for this year. I passed all my subjects and I'll be promoted to IB2. I still have some things to do during the summer (and actually I realized that I have to go to school tomorrow and print out my BM questionnaires...), but now I'm just going to enjoy the warmth and do nothing. In two weeks I'll be in England!
But let's still go back to the last weekend. On Friday my boyfriend came to visit us, I cooked some nice vegetarian food. As sometimes you've been asking the recipes I'm going to share this one with you. Basically you need some vegetables (e.g. pepper, onion, garlic, courgette, broccoli, cauliflower , tomato, carrot... What ever you like!) and then you just simple dice and cook them with some oil and quite low heat (as at least I wanted them to be medium). Once the vegetables are pretty much ready, just add sweet-and-sour sauce.
Then a bit trickier part that still is really simple (this could be done while the vegetables are slowly cooking). You need eggs, glass-noodles and green onion.  For five people I used seven eggs, 150g of noodles and four green onions and there were enough leftovers for me for the next Monday. You start by putting the noodles into a bowl, then adding boiling water over them and letting them cook. Then add the eggs into another bowl and whisk them a bit. Once the noodles have cooked, water has been poured out and they've cooled down a bit, cut them into smaller pieces and add to the same bowl with eggs. Then cut green onions and add them to the mixture, mix and then bake them on a pan as you would do with pancakes or so. Then serve the noodle-pancakes with the vegetables. And it was tasty!
On Saturday evening me and my sis went to see my best friend and met the cutest little thing ever. She was born in the morning and so she wasn't even as old as one day. So, so cute! I've seen quite a few young horses, but this one was totally the youngest one. Just look at it and let her melt your heart ♥
On Sunday me and my little sister visited our cousin and her family, as their younger daughter had her 6th birthday party. It was great to see some relatives and spend time with sis on the road. We also stopped twice to take some pics, here you go!

Skirt - H&M, Shoes - my sister's

So nothing else this time. Only one and a half week to go and we're flying to England! I still have things to be posted before I'm leaving, but soon we will be on a travelling mode, yay! And I could also mention, that I finally got a new phone which was totally too expensive, but I just hope I'll be able to use it for years.  So see you next time!

A lifetime in exile in the land of the fools.

Mustasch - Thank you for the demon

..again one nice song from a Swedish band. The neighbors just know how to do music (and with this I refer also to Sabaton and Amaranthe, two of my favourites!). I have to admit, that I don't know Mustasch's other discography than just this one song, but I've been playing it a lot lately.

It's Friday. I have four days of school left, today I'm home. I already took a little walk with my dog and now I've been cleaning up my room. It has been untouched for a while, because I just haven't had time to do anything. Some school things are still undone, but slowly I'm getting to a point where I can say that I'm done with this year. Of course I still have my EE to be written during the summer and so on, but I don't even count that in now.
Shirt - Lindex, Scarf - Secondhand
Jeans - Cubus, Shoes - New Look

These last weeks have been extremely busy (as you've heard for fifteen times already) and I haven't had time to concentrate on my blog. However I managed to edit the layout and I'm quite happy with that one. What do you think?

Lately I've been also trying to understand that we're living pretty much the end of May. I still live somewhere in February or March and I don't feel like that in three weeks we're in England and actually pretty soon flying to Germany. But probably the reality hits when I have to start packing - I have already planned what I'm going to take with me, but let's see!
These picture's in this post are from the end of April and I have another set of pics waiting for publishing. That really tells something about what I've been able to do... But yeah, I should probably stop complaining and be happy that I have something to do and I don't have to get bored at all. Now I will continue my operation called "getting shit done" and go to do the laundry. And then I'll go outside and enjoy the weather - the sun is shining and it's finally warm, yay!

one busy busy weekend

Or actually it wasn't that busy. On Friday we, my boyfriend and I came to our home, ate and tried to do some school stuff. I drove my sister to the stables and tried for the very first time how to refuel our car. When my sister got back from the stables we drove to my boyfriend's house - last time I visited him I can't even remember...
On Saturday we went to the city to do some shopping with him and his sister, the weather was quite nice and I found what I was looking for. I've been missing a new eyeliner from the beginning of the year and last week my old one totally dried out so I was forced to buy a new one. I also found Hurts' second album Exile and I had to buy it as it was only five euros!

Cardigan - Primark, Top - Primark
Jeans - Tokmanni, Bracelet - from Berlin

Sunday I spent totally with school stuff - at the moment I have so many things to do that I don't even know. I should write this and that, try to do homework from every subject and get some sleep and keep up with other life as well. And if that's not enough, I'm having a some kind of flu. I don't know how can I handle this all, but my only goal is to get promoted to IB2 and to do carefully those works that are affecting to my final grades. Hopefully I'll manage and actually I now have the motivation that has been hiding the past few months...

But anyway. Above you can see my outfit from Saturday (even though I managed to look awful pretty much in every shot), all the pics © Mattis. Nothing else this time. How was your weekend?

It's April Fool's day!

...but I'm not gonna fool you guys.
It's Wednesday, first day of April and the second last day of the fourth test week. This week I've proven myself that parking a car can be a real disaster and that I totally suck at math. Tomorrow's subject is chemistry - at least that's something I feel like I can manage with!
On Monday I had my driving lessons (they're soon over, weird) and after that I wen't to a hairdresser. I ended up dyeing my whole hair and it's lot nicer than it was previously. It's awesome to have just one colour and no roots to be seen, I like this a lot!
The haircut then is a different story. This time the hairdresser just took the driest ends away. If the colour is nice, the cut hasn't truly been pretty for a long time now. But I just have cope with it, if I wan't to fulfill my hair ideas. But that's about hair for this time.
Today the weather was really awesome, and the contrast to the cold, grey and wet beginning of the week it was a great pleasure to wear sunglasses and some other shoes than my winter boots!

Sunglasses - Newlook, Shoes - borrowed from sister
The next weekend has already quite a few plans, but let's see how everything goes. I'm gonna be eighteen anyway, and it's gonna be awesome. See you soon!

Do you have plans for the Eastern holiday?

P.s. All the pics taken by my sis! Sorry about spamming so many of them, but I just love the spring-like-feeling they have!

Just another weekend

As it seems I haven't been posting about my everyday-life for a long time, I decided to change it today! I've been quite happy with those "Blogging from A to Z"-posts as they keep this blog going even though there's nothing happening in my life...
Jacket - Seppälä, Scarf - Secondhand
Handbag - Secondhand, Necklace - from Tallinn

I've been really truly busy, and if not busy then really exhausted. Driving school is going nicely, theory lessons are done for now and on next Thursday I'm going to do the test. Right now I feel pretty confident about that one, but still I need to spend some time practicing. Then I still have a few driving lessons left, my birthday is within two weeks and then I'll have to know how to drive a car.
School then. Today I've actually got things done, but other ways I've been suffering from a huge lack of motivation. I know that I should get things done, I know I should study more and I should try to keep up with my hobbies and stuff. But I'm just too lazy and don't work enough. I just really hope that I will get some more energy now, when the days are lighter and weathers are warmer. And it certainly gets easier when the whole thing with driving lessons is over.
But no more complaining! During this weekend I've been baking and having a good time with my family (besides actually calculating some math and doing BM IA). My boyfriend also visited us (long time no see. Though we see daily in school it seems that we both have so hectic lives that we're not able to manage to see each other outside the school), as well as my aunt.
With my mom we baked our very first macarons and it went pretty nicely. Next time we'll make the filling differently to make it mach with the colour of cookie part - this time we used just Nutella. And add bit more food coloring as they could be more clearly blue.
And I think it's time to say it out loud. I am going to visit Cyprus next summer, on July. It's been unsure how I can manage with all coming and going, but it seems like I can fit everything into my summer and it's gonna be epic. The trip there is a youth exchange project and there's around twenty of us in our group. In Cyprus there will be another bunch of youngsters to get to known with. And I'm pretty excited!

How's your life going?

surf the clouds, race the dark

Yesterday, the long awaited day was here. The very first time to hear the new song from Nightwish, Élan. Floor doesn't sound bad at all, the song gets better every time I hear it and it is the real Nightwish. Élan somehow continues in the way of Imginaerum. It's not so heavy, it has some really recognizable elements and somehow reminds me of I Want My Tears Back.  But that's it, I recommend you to listen this piece of art, and I am left looking forward to the day when the whole album is released!

This week has been weird. On Tuesday, I had my very first driving lesson - and I didn't kill or harm anyone, yay! Yesterday there were Penkkarit in our school, I had only one lesson of chemistry and then I left as I was pretty tired of everything. And managed to kick a chair so, that my right instep is now purple and yesterday it was swollen as well...
Today we had Vanhojen tanssit - I didn't take part, but I watched the whole thing and tried to take pics. You should never try to use a camera that you don't know, if you want to get some nice pics... But we had fun with my classmates and judging the dresses is always the best part of everything (yet we weren't too cruel)!  And because of the dances, we had only English lesson, so I've had quite laid back end of the week.
These pictures were taken today as well, credits to my sister. I like this combination of a shirt and Guns n' Roses top, what do you think?
Now I'm gonna think everything through, and decide should or should I not go to after-party of Vanhat. Let's see. Have a great weekend you all!

Xmassy

Friday was the last school day - weird that I'm not gonna see those awesome  people in over two weeks. But anyway it's great to have holiday, even if I have a lot to do for school. But for now I'm just gonna relax and enjoy for a couple of days.
On Saturday I had a training (which went nicely - I'm getting familiar with the horse I'm riding at the moment and can't wait to see where do we get during the spring!) and after that I went to visit my boyfriend. Sleeping long and spending lazy days, couldn't be better.

Yesterday I came home and now it's been all about doing the last preparations for Christmas. Today I spent baking, shopping the last presents and in the afternoon we had time to take these pics with my sis. Even if it was daytime pics came out to be quite dark - please don't mind about the sad quality. And what comes to the darkness, the worst is over now and we're getting towards the light days, yey!
Also today my cousin came to us from England with her husband, and my aunt as well, and they're gonna spend these Christmas days over here. So everything is better than well at the moment! It's great to be happy.

So, merry Christmas to all of you!

ps. As you see, we got a snowy winter ♥ (..and besides it -20 degrees)
